Meat plants affected by an outbreak of Covid 19 should not reopen on Monday, the Health Minister Stephen Donnelly has said. Mr Donnelly said it was his personal view that it would be inappropriate for these factories to operate while other people are being asked to restrict their movements.
Health officials say the vast majority of new cases confirmed in recent days are linked to outbreaks or clusters and they are hopeful they are being contained.
However, they are still expecting to see significant numbers of cases in the coming days linked to close contacts. They will also be watching the results from those tested for Covid 19 in three testing centres in the midlands over this weekend.
