Michael Stewart calls for Rangers explanation over £5m Ianis Hagi transfer deal

Outspoken pundit Michael Stewart has questioned how Rangers could be in a position to sign Ianis Hagi after previously posting losses and having players defer their wages during the coronavirus pandemic.

The 21-year-old Romanian is expected to seal a £5m move to Ibrox in the weeks ahead after completing a successful loan spell from Genk.

Ibrox chairman Douglas Park recently explained in a Q&A with that a £10m funding gap for the upcoming season has been filled by existing directors and further investment is on the way.

Hong-Kong based investor Stuart Gibson was on the verge of a reported £20m cash injection before the COVID-19 pandemic threw the world into chaos.
