NHS staff at Manchester's Nightingale coronavirus hospital joined people from across the region in clapping for our carers tonight.

At 8pm every Thursday, the nation comes together to celebrate the key workers helping the ill and vulnerable during the coronavirus pandemic.

The round of applause has become part of our weekly lockdown ritual. And tonight was no different in Greater Manchester. Thousands of people were out on their doorsteps, balconies, drives and in their front gardens for the fifth mass round of applause.

Staff the new NHS Nightingale Hospital North West at the Manchester Central Convention Complex also took a break from work to pay tribute.
