Starving monkeys have been terrorising villagers by raiding vital crops during the coronavirus lockdown in India. There is reportedly less food for the wild animals to scavenge as market places close and people stay in doors causing tourism to grind to a halt.
One group of ravenous primates was filmed in the act raiding fields, by a furious villager wielding a giant stick. Footage shows a family of squealing langurs running from the fields to be fed biscuits in an effort to stop them destroying vegetable patches in rural India.
However the kind act doesn't stop one greedy primate from taking more than his fair share and being chased off the land by a man holding a tree branch.
