BBC Gardeners' World host Monty Don has spoken up about rumours of him leaving the show. Last year, Monty hinted at leaving Gardeners' World as he told Times Radio: "The logical thing to do is give up Gardeners' World." Now, he has confirmed what he meant by the comment after fans feared he was leaving the show completely.
He shared:"In the end, I'm a gardener and my life is lived in my garden. Being able to share that through Gardeners' World is not only a privilege, but it's also completely central to who I am and what I do." Addressing how it helps his mental health, he continued: "I wouldn't say I have been healed.
I'd say I am being healed. It's an ongoing process." Monty can next be seen on his new series, Monty Don's Spanish Gardens, which begins tonight (February 23).
Speaking about making the series, he said: "This was filmed last year when I spent seven weeks in Spain across April, May, June and October and covers over 40 different gardens right across Spain. "I found it an exhilarating and fascinating experience with stunning gardens and learned so much more about the country - despite having visited many times before as a tourist.
