Harry and Meghan have wished 'health and healing' for Princess Kate following her cancer diagnosis. The Princess of Wales tonight revealed she was battling the disease in an emotional statement to the nation.
Kate said she underwent major abdominal surgery in London in January and doctors thought her condition was non-cancerous. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present.Following her shock announcement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent their sister-in-law well-wishes.
In a statement, the couple said: “We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace.”Earlier this evening, The King said he was "so proud" of Kate for her "courage in speaking as she did".Buckingham Palace said: “His Majesty is ‘so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did’.
Following their time in hospital together, HM has ‘remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks.’“Both Their Majesties ‘will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time’.”Kate, who has not disclosed the type of cancer she has, thanked the public for their continued support and well wishes as she recovers at home in Windsor.She has asked for privacy to be with her family as she continues the course of treatment.Kate also expressed her gratitude towards the medical professionals who have been looking after her as well as her husband Prince William, and children - Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.She began: "I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery,"
