King Charles has said he is "so proud" of the Princess of Wales for her courage in going public with her shock cancer diagnosis.
Buckingham Palace said in a statement on Friday evening: “His Majesty is ‘so proud of Catherine for her courage in speaking as she did’.
Following their time in hospital together, HM has ‘remained in the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law throughout the past weeks.’ Both Their Majesties ‘will continue to offer their love and support to the whole family through this difficult time’.” The Princess of Wales revealed she is undergoing treatment for cancer in an emotional video message to the nation this evening, and told others battling the disease “you are not alone”. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak led the nation in offering sympathy to the royal, saying in a statement: “The Princess of Wales has the love and support of the whole country as she continues her recovery.” The princess was admitted to hospital for planned abdominal surgery on January 16.
