Salford Royal Hospital has reported no new deaths among coronavirus patients for the fourth day in a row. The total number of patients who have died after contracting Covid-19 at the hospital has remained at 162 since Saturday.

It is the longest period in which no new fatalities have been reported at Salford Royal since the early stages of the pandemic in March.

The update was announced by NHS England today and does not mean that no patients have died within the last 24 hours, as there is often a delay in reporting.
