The number of people in Ireland to die with Covid-19 has risen to over 1,800 - after five more deaths were announced. An additional 248 cases of the virus were also confirmed yesterday evening.
It comes amid ongoing concerns about increases in the incidence of the coronavirus in a number of counties. The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has reported 29 deaths from Covid-19 this month.
It takes the death toll here since the start of the pandemic to 1,802. Dublin accounted for 104 or 42% of the new cases confirmed yesterday, while 37 of the cases were in Donegal.
