A selfless nurse cancelled her retirement 'treat' so she can carry on caring for high-risk patients during the coronavirus pandemic.
Respiratory nurse specialist Michaela Bowden had planned to retire from her full-time post at the end of April and celebrate with a cruise, before returning part-time in June.
But after the COVID-19 outbreak, Mrs Bowden said it was a 'no brainer' that she would cancel her month break and carry on taking care of patients at the Royal Bolton Hospital. “I was going to take a month off as a treat,” said Mrs Bowden. “My husband and I had been planning to go on a cruise. "But when all this happened, I decided not to have a break.
