One of the city centre's most prominent hotels is to close permanently this summer. The Renaissance Manchester Hotel, which is part of the Marriott Group, has confirmed the news 'with great sadness'.
Owners of the hotel, on the corner of Deansgate and Blackfriars Street, said demand has been weakened by the travel restrictions implemented during the coronavirus pandemic.
It is expected to close its doors for good on July 15. The four-star hotel is in a prominent location in the city centre, close to Harvey Nichols, Selfridges, and the Manchester Arena.
The Renaissance told the M.E.N: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm that the Renaissance Manchester Hotel is expected to permanently close around July 15 2020. "Travel restrictions
