More than £1billion in refunds is being illegally withheld for holidays cancelled due to coronavirus, research reveals. Around 9.5 million people have had a package holiday cancelled since the first lockdown in March but cash refunds for one in five holidays are still outstanding.
Not only that, but the average amount of time spent contacting package firms about cancelled trips was 15.5 hours. Which? surveyed more than 7,500 people who lost package holidays as a result of the pandemic at the beginning of last month.
It estimated just over £1billion was being unlawfully withheld from customers who requested money back, at an average cost of £1,784 per holiday. Are you struggling to get a refund for a large amount of money?
