Piers Stefan Pughe-Morgan (born 30 March 1965) is an English broadcaster, journalist, writer, and television personality. He is currently a co-presenter of the ITV Breakfast programme Good Morning Britain from Monday to Wednesday each week. Morgan began his career in Fleet Street as a writer and editor for several tabloid papers, including The Sun, News of the World, and the Daily Mirror. In 1994, aged 29, he was appointed editor of the News of the World by Rupert Murdoch, which made him the youngest editor of a British national newspaper in more than half a century.

Piers Morgan has branded himself a "Covidiot" after admitting to breaking coronavirus rules "for a few seconds". The Good Morning Britain host was photographed in a taxi without a face mask after date night with his wife Celia Walden, who was wearing one.

Taking responsibility, the 55-year-old took to Twitter and admitted he did break the rules, but fixed his mistake quickly."I put my mask on seconds after this pic was taken, as the cab moved off," he told his 7.7million followers."I should have done it before I got in but ironically, I was chatting to the paparazzi and I forgot."He explained: "It was outside in the street.
