At 9pm tonight the Queen will be broadcasting an address to the nation to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day. May 8, 1945, was the day the Nazis unconditionally surrendered to Allied forces and ended World War Two in Europe.
There had been hopes of celebrations acros the country to mark the special day in Britain's history but these have had to be scaled back due to the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.
The Queen's message is part of is part of the scale-back anniversary, which has included a fly-past and a two minute silence at 11am this morning.
Her Majesty has recorded the address in The White Drawing Room at Windsor Castle and is her second broadcast in five weeks, following her national address about the coronavirus Covid-19
