There were scuffles and at least 19 arrests as protests against the coronavirus lockdown drew dozens in London and Liverpool and as little as two people elsewhere in the UK.
Piers Corbyn, the brother of former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, was among those detained by Metropolitan Police officers for deliberately breaking social distancing guidelines at one of the largest gatherings.
However, most of the protests were a flop as calls for mass gatherings were ignored in many cities and towns. No-one turned up at a number of locations where people were encouraged to gather, and there were more police officers than protesters at demonstrations in Cardiff and Sheffield.
