Pub giant Wetherspoons is getting ready for post-lockdown punters as it unveils its new-look pub. Businesses, such as pubs, hairdressers and cinemas will have to wait until July before they can reopen in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, the Government has previously said.

But on Thursday pubs were thrown a lifeline Boris Johnson hinted the two-metre rule for punters may be halved as he announced boozers could reopening again within weeks.

Environment Secretary George Eustice has also stated he wanted pubs to "tentatively start gradually opening" in July with social distancing in place.
