Video footage has emerged showing a police officer being dragged along the grass by a group he confronted over reportedly flouting lockdown rules.
The police officer, who has not been named, has been taken to hospital with minor injuries to the wrist and head after the attack, says Surrey Live.
Surrey police say a lone officer was called to West Byfleet Park outside southwest London at 7.40pm after a report a group of young males were potentially contravening social distancing guidelines.
Video footage which has been circulating on social media appears to show the officer lying flat on the ground. He then appears to be dragged along the grass by his arms as a commotion is heard in the background, with shouting and laughing.
