High street discounter Poundland has seen sales of its £1 pregnancy tests rocket since the start of the coronavirus lockdown.
The outlet, which remains open in line with Government guidelines, said sales of the home kits have gone up by 25% since the measures were introduced at the end of March.
Sales have increased in all parts of the country but have surged the most in Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands and Slough in Berkshire.
The news follows speculation that life in lockdown could lead to a baby boom in nine months' time, with a wave of so-called 'coronababies' being born around Christmas.
