Premier League clubs have voted to start training in small groups ahead of the season's possible restart next month. The Premier League confirmed in a statement clubs had unanimously voted to 'return to small-group training from tomorrow afternoon'.

Manchester United had planned for players to return to training at their Carrington training complex the week beginning May 18.

Players are forbidden from contact training and must maintain social distancing. United club doctor Steve McNally was at Carrington on Monday ahead of the players' return.

The last Premier League match to be staged was between Aston Villa and Leicester City on March 9 and the season was suspended on March 13 after the Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta tested positive for
