Primary school forced to close amid confirmed case of Covid-19

A primary school has been forced to temporarily close after a confirmed case of Covid-19. Milton St John's CE Primary School, in Mossley, Tameside, has shut while a risk assessment is carried out to identify which pupils and staff now need to self-isolate.

Like most schools, the primary had been open to the children of key workers and those deemed vulnerable. It has not been confirmed whether a child or member of staff has tested positive for the virus, but one villager told the M.E.N that people living in the area need to be taking social distancing measures more seriously.

She said: "People around here are not social distancing in the shops and loads have been out in the gardens having barbecues with people not from their households.
