Roman Abramovich’s latest NHS gesture emerges as Chelsea offer up second hotel

Chelsea have made another of their Stamford Bridge hotels available for NHS frontline heroes. Last month, the club's owner Roman Abramovich made the decision to offer NHS staff free accommodation at the Millennium Hotel.

And Chelsea have now offered up use of the Copthorne Hotel, free of charge, meaning there are now 128 rooms available for those fighting to save lives during the coronavirus pandemic.

Free breakfast and laundry services are put on each day, with nurses and doctors staying at the hotels to avoid having to self-isolate if a member of their usual household has COVID-19 symptoms.

The Millennium Hotel has been operating at almost full capacity in recent weeks. Chelsea have agreed a 10 per wage cut with their first-team squad,
