Salford Royal Hospital has reported no new Covid-19 deaths in the latest update from NHS England this afternoon. It is the fifth time in the last seven days that the hospital has declared zero fatalities in the daily update.

The total number of patients with coronavirus who have passed away at Salford Royal remains at 162. In the last seven days, the hospital has reported three Covid-19 deaths - one patient died on Friday and two passed away last Tuesday.

By contrast, in the second week of April the hospital recorded 72 deaths of coronavirus patients in the space of seven days.
