A Scots care home has confirmed a Covid-19 outbreak after 10 residents tested positive for the virus. William Simpsons Care Home requested testing for their 61 occupants after three staff members were found to have contracted coronavirus.
The alarm was raised earlier this month after a relative of three employees, who does not work at the home, was found to be suffering from the disease.
The three employees were subsequently tested and notified the home via telephone before beginning self-isolation.A fourth employee tested positive at a later date.
Thankfully the home, based in Plean, Stirling, have not had any Covid-19 deaths and extra health and safety measures are in place to reduce the spread.
