British Gas is set to cut 5000 jobs after restructure plans were accelerated by the pandemic. Centrica will cut out three layers of management to slimline the business including half of their 40-strong leadership team who will step down by September.

Around half of axed roles will be among management, corporate staff and the company’s leadership team. Most of the restructuring is expected to happen in the second half of this year, Centrica said.
