A family has been left devastated after a 31-year-old woman died in her sleep just hours after a VE Day street party in Tameside.
Naomi Derrig, who had type 1 diabetes, had been complaining of migraines in the days leading up to her death. But she spent Friday with her family and was 'glowing' during the VE Days street party in Denton, her heartbroken sister said.
She went to bed after chatting to her boyfriend on the phone, but a few hours later was found unresponsive in bed by mum Lynda Derrig.
Lynda thought she 'had gone'. Her son Jordan rang an ambulance, and paramedics spent 20 minutes trying to revive her. "But they couldn't do any more, they couldn't take her to hospital.
