A Scots council has axed bin collections in a desperate bid to stop coronavirus spreading. The South Lanarkshire are believed to be the first local authority to suspended all waste and recycling collection services.

They are frantically reviewing ' working arrangements' to create safer conditions that follow the governments social distancing rules.

It comes after three more people died overnight in Scotland from the virus. A further increase of 175 positive cases was confirmed by the First Minister Nicola Sturgeon this morning, taking cases to 894.
