The coronavirus death toll in the United Kingdom has jumped by 180 to 1,415, up from 1,228 from the day before. NHS England has confirmed a further 159 have been killed by Covid-19 in the country in the last 24 hours.
Earlier today First Minister Nicola Sturgeon had confirmed there have been six more deaths in Scotland, taking its death toll to 47.
Public Health Wales also announced another 14 people died, taking its total to 62, while Northern Ireland's death toll rose by one to 22.
Yesterday saw another 209 people killed by the virus, including 190 in England and 10 in Wales. It came a day after Britain’s second deadliest day of 260 deaths on Saturday, as the toll reached a devastating milestone of over 1,000 deaths.
