This amazing photo of an empty Buchanan Street taken from a police helicopter shows how the Scottish Government’s lockdown order is starting to hit home.

Glasgow’s main shopping thoroughfare is normally packed with hundreds of shoppers at lunchtime when the picture was taken earlier today.

Instead, the street was bare as the majority of people stayed indoors after the lockdown announcement from Prime Minister Boris Johnson and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon yesterday.
