SPFL chairman Murdoch MacLennan has hailed the decisive vote against an inquiry as he accuses Rangers of causing "anger and division".
The Ibrox club alleged wrongdoing on the part of the SPFL in their handling of a resolution to end the lower league seasons early and hand the board the power to do the same with the Premiership.
Last week they released a dossier of evidence to their fellow clubs as they called for an independent investigation. On Tuesday clubs voted on the proposals at an emergency general meeting, with Rangers ' resolution comfortably defeated.
A total of 13 clubs voted in favour, with a margin of 75 per cent needed in each division to pass the resolution. That total reached just 33 per cent in the Premiership, 10 per
