today that Northern Ireland have confirmed July 6 as their official date of reopening hairdressers and barbers, 15 weeks after going into lockdown.
Yes, it’s still a few weeks away but at least the ministers in Northern Ireland have had the sense to even acknowledge the beauty industry - which is more than Boris has attempted to do.The last official line we heard from Boris about the beauty industry was back in May - yes, really! - to lump the industry in with the rest of hospitality with a possible reopening date of July 4.
But, as he said at the time, it was ‘at the earliest’. And that’s all we’ve heard since. Perhaps Boris needs reminding that the beauty industry as a whole employs over 600,000 people in the UK, and the hairdressing.
