The apparent results of a study concluding coronavirus can't be caught twice have been described as 'promising' and 'encouraging' by a public health expert.
But Professor John Newton, speaking at Friday's daily coronavirus press conference at Downing Street, also sounded a note of caution.
He said the science surrounding immunity was 'still emerging' and that he would want to see the results replicated in other studies.
Prof Newton is director of public health improvement at Public Health England. He was questioned on the results of a study carried out in South Korea and publicised today.
