Proud mum of five Kate Ferdinand has shared an intimate look at the birth of her second daughter, Shae Ferdinand, as she recalled the adorable little one’s arrival earlier this year, in a brand new Instagram post.

In the short clip, which serves as a teaser ahead of a more in-depth video due to be released on her YouTube channel Blended, Kate could be seen lying in a hospital bed as she recounted the experience of Shae’s eventful arrival. The happy couple welcomed Shae back in July, but as the video has since revealed, things weren’t straight forward for the couple, with the new arrival being required to spend some time in a special care baby unit following her birth. “I could just tell they thought there was something wrong.

She’s not taking in the right amount of oxygen, so she’s gone to the special care unit,” explained Kate in emotional scenes. The video then cut to a clip of proud dad Rio Ferdinand, who added: “You don’t ever think about the negatives.

You don’t think about what can go wrong. You don’t ever come into the hospital thinking that your first night is gonna be your baby alone on another ward.” He then continued: “The kids are saying “where’s the pictures?”, “send us the pictures!”, they’re all excited but you don’t wanna send the first pictures of the baby with all the wires.” The clip then concluded with Kate fighting back tears as she admitted: “I’ve been really strong…but if I talk about it, I’ll cry because I just her here now.” Shae is Kate’s second child with professional footballer Rio, and forms part of her blended family alongside firstborn Cree, and Rio’s three children, Lorenz, Tate and Tia from his first marriage.
