THE A Word’s Christopher Eccleston has branded I’m A Celeb stars "a***holes" in a rant over ratings. The much-loved BBC drama, which follows the family of a young boy called Joe who’s diagnosed with autism, returned recently for series 3.
While last season the show went up against ITV’s jungle-based ratings juggernaut, that’s not the case this time around. And Eccleston, who plays granddad Maurice Scott, let rip at the idea TV viewers would rather watch I’m A Celeb – while being disparaging about the contestants.
The Emmy Award-winning actor, 56, added he hoped that with the show not on now, and the enforced nationwide restrictions due to coronavirus, it would mean more people watching The A Word this time around.
