Throughout the history of RuPaul's Drag Race, the grand finale has gone through a massive evolution, from a closed studio ceremony to a massive lip-sync showdown in front of a live audience.
Now it's evolving yet again, this time to accommodate the pandemic we're currently living in. On Friday (May 15), VH1 announced that both the upcoming reunion and finale episodes of RuPaul's Drag Race have been filmed virtually, with all of the queens joining the festivities via their homes, with social distancing measures to combat the coronavirus in full effect.
First, the reunion episode (set to air on Friday, May 22 on VH1) will feature 12 queens joining a "virtual slumber party" hosted, as always, by RuPaul.
