There are now almost 550 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Lanarkshire

The Scottish Government today said that 547 people have now tested positive for coronavirus in Lanarkshire.That is an increase of 35 new cases, up from 512 yesterday.It comes as 296 patients across Scotland who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have died.The test numbers for April 7 show:A total of 25,022 people in Scotland have been tested.

Of these:■  20,793 tests were confirmed negative■  4229  tests were positive■ 296 patients who tested positive have diedFirst Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: “Coronavirus is the biggest challenge of our lifetime and  measures we take to tackle it must reflect the magnitude of that.“These measures are essential to slow down the spread of this virus.
