Scottish chief medical officer Catherine Calderwood has issued a grovelling TV apology to the nation, in which she's said she is "truly sorry" for not adhering to coronavirus guidelines by visiting her second home In the apology, broadcast on Sky News today, she acknowledged she had "no excuses" for "not following the advice she has been giving to others".
She said: She "made a mistake and let people down" and "cannot justify it". Addressing Dr Calderwood's trip to her second home, Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said: "The chief medical officer made a mistake in travelling away from her home. "Whatever her reasons for doing so it was wrong and she knows that." She added: "All of us, including me, will make mistakes in these
