THE face mask Tom Cruise wears on the Mission Impossible set is not recommended by the CDC. The actor - who unleashed a furious rant at crew for not respecting social distancing - has been using a mask that may not prevent Covid from spreading.

Tom, 58, has been seen wearing a $14.99 covering from Jupiter Gear with a carbon filter and two breathing valves. The mask is mostly designed to be worn during physical activity, with the valves working to "release hot, humid exhaled breath quickly", TMZ reported.

In fact, the CDC has warned against wearing masks with valves because "this type of mask may not prevent you from spreading COVID-19 to others".
