A further 1,322 coronavirus deaths have been recorded in the UK and 19,202 more infections with numbers down on last week. It is the lowest Wednesday daily death rise since January 6.
It's a drop on last Wednesday when 1,725 fatalities and 25,308 new cases were announced. Today's cases were down by 6,106 on last Wednesday and the lowest Wednesday case count since December 9.
Yesterday coronavirus claimed the lives of 1,449 more patients in the UK, with 406 dying the day before that. Daily death tolls have tended to be higher on Tuesdays due to a build up following weekends which aren't processed in time for Mondays.
