A further 394 people have died of coronavirus in UK hospitals in the lowest Monday total since the start of the year. Today 356 people died in hospitals in England, 21 in Wales, six in Scotland and 11 in Northern Ireland.
It marks the smallest hospital death toll since January 4 when 413 people died. Coronavirus claimed the lives of 653 people in hospitals across the nation last Monday, indicating a significant weekly drop.
Yesterday the coronavirus claimed the lives of 622 more patients in the UK, with 787 dying the day before that. Although the UK still has one of the highest death rates in the world, it seems as if the country has passed the peak of the second wave in terms of daily fatalities.
