A heatwave gifting Brits temperatures of up to 20C could be hampered by a biting breeze topping 50mph. Met Office forecaster Clare Nasir said a "warm conveyor belt of air bringing very high temperatures" will arrive on Sunday - meaning the UK could be hotter than Greece and Portugal.
But that welcome warmth will be fighting it out with "some strong winds" while there could even be gales in the west, said the meteorologist.
Wind gusts of at least 25mph will be ever present across Britain, with Tiree in Scotland seeing the worst of it with gales hitting 48mph.
And even right into the south of England, on the west coast, the breeze is expected to be in and around 40. It means some areas where temperatures are due to soar well into the teens
