The scorching heat is set to continue across much of Britain for days, prompting warnings about social distancing and taking unnecessary risks.
Temperatures got close to 27C in and around London on Monday, with forecasters predicting highs of 25C for Tuesday. Aside from some rain in the far north and north-west on Wednesday, most parts of the country will be dry, largely sunny, and very warm for the rest of the week, the Met Office said.
