Last night a new documentary exploring the planning and execution of the viral Glasgow Willy Wonka experience aired on Channel 5 which got many people talking. On Saturday night, viewers tuned into Wonka: The Scandal That Rocked Britain, where many people involved were interviewed, including organiser Billy Coull. This was the first time Billy - who ran House of Illuminati - has spoken out and he has said that the event 'ruined his life' and the aftermath of it has caused him to 'lose everything'.He said: "My life has been turned upside, my life is ruined."He then went on to say he has had hundreds of messages of hate, with people even telling him to 'kill himself'.
He added: "It's not a nice feeling to be under the microscope. "I was getting hundreds and hundreds calling me the most awful names saying I'm a villain, I'm a horrific dad, I'm better off dead, I should kill myself.
I was devastated and I was sick to the pit of my tummy, I had a whole host of emotions."Billy even broke down in tears talking about it and many viewers tuning in to the programme expressed their concern for him and took to social media to discuss, saying it was a very uncomfortable watch. Many viewers say that he appears to be 'traumatised' and needs support.
One penned: "I know this was a bad experience and I agree they should get their money back and it's not ok to upset kids, but I genuinely hope Billy is ok, this is someone's mental health and life we are talking about, we say time and time again, be kind, he doesn't deserve death threats."One added: "I'm feeling really uncomfortable watching Billy Coull on the #wonka documentary- the guy is clearly not very well.
