Midsomer fans rejoice - the long-running ITV crime drama returns with a brand new series tonight (Sunday April 14). The series follows veteran Detective Chief Inspector and his young Sergeant as they investigate murders around the fictional Midsomer County.
The show has been on our screens for 27 years, with Neil Dudgeon taking over from John Nettles as John Barnaby replaced Tom Barnaby in 2011.
Joining the cast for its 23rd series is former EastEnders star Nina Wadia, who is swapping Walford for Midsomar. The actress, 55, portrayed Zainab Masood in the hit BBC soap.
She made her first appearance on the show in 2007 and was the mother of Syed, Shabnam, Tamwar and Kamil, and the wife of Masood Ahmed.
