A cancer centre is offering free telephone support for people living with the condition through the coronavirus lockdown. Maggie's Manchester, based in the grounds of The Christie Hospital, is usually open to offer support for people living with cancer and their families.
But since the centre had to close its doors, people can no longer pop in for help and advice. Maggie's are now providing practical support over the phone, by email and through their online community.
Head of the centre, Sinead Collins, said this is particularly important throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic as it will cause 'increased stress and anxiety levels' for people undergoing treatment.
