It has been five weeks since the Prime Minister Boris Johnson issued a very clear message to the public. Stay home, protect the NHS and save lives.
And for the majority, that has been the case. Mr Johnson praised the public on his return to work on Monday after he himself ending up spending three days in intensive care after contracting coronavirus.
He said in an address outside Number 10: "Once again I want to thank you the people of this country for the sheer grit and guts you've shown and are continuing to show." And whilst the PM did encouragingly say we are going through the peak of the outbreak, he warned that it is not the time to be complacent.
