People could be allowed to form 'social bubbles' with other households as the government looks at ways to ease the coronavirus lockdown restrictions.
It means two households could be permitted to meet up, allowing people to see close friends or family. But, Downing Street warned that if data suggested the virus was spreading again as a result of the relaxations, restrictions would be tightened 'possibly at short notice'.
Ministers are also considering allowing larger groups to gather to celebrate events like weddings. The changes could come into force in the 'coming weeks'.
