Peggy Pope, best known for her role as the tipsy office secretary in comedy 9 to 5 has died aged 91. The veteran actor died on 27 May in Fort Collins, Colorado, with her family confirming the news and revealing plans for a 27 June celebration of life.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pope’s death was unrelated to Covid-19. Pope was best known for her portrayal of Margaret in 9 to 5 alongside Dolly Parton, Lily Tomlim and Jane Fonda, using the catchphrase ‘Atta girl’ to encourage her co-workers.

She went on to appear on the ABC series adaptation of the movie and in 2011 published her autobiography, Atta Girl: Tales From a Life in the Trenches of Show Business.
