Award for farmers who live streamed animals to lift nation's spirits during lockdown

Two farmers who “fortified the nation’s spirits” by broadcasting live streams of their animals have been awarded the Prime Minister’s Points of Light Award for helping their community.

Brothers Rob and David Nicholson, of Cannon Hall Farm, were praised by Boris Johnson for their daily videos, which have been viewed by more than seven million ­people during the lockdown.

The farm featured in the Sunday People two weeks ago. Mr Johnson said: “Your ingenuity has fortified the nation’s spirits as we continue our fight against ­ coronavirus. "To do this while running a working farm is wonderful and testament to the ­dedication of Britain’s farmers, which you exemplify.
