Boris Johnson has today announced massive changes to the coronavirus lockdown in England. Pubs, hotels, hairdressers, cinemas, museums and galleries can open bang on Saturday 4 July - despite fears it's too soon to unlock the nation, especially all at once.

Two households will also be able to meet indoors and even stay overnight - as long as they maintain social distancing. But crucially the two-metre rule will be cut down to a "one metre plus" rule, with people able to be closer if they sit side-by-side or wear a mask.

The death toll of people with coronavirus in the UK today passed 54,000 and stands at 54,089. And scientists warn the risk of catching Covid-19 is ten times higher at 1m away than 2m away.
