Barcelona 's superstar players are reportedly willing to accept a 30 per cent pay cut in order to help the club deal with the fallout from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
President Josep Maria Bartomeu is said to have spoken with Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Sergi Roberto and Gerard Pique about reducing their wages and they rejected an initial proposal of a 70 per cent cut.
Now, Spanish radio station RAC1 are reporting that the players have agreed to a 30 per cent cut instead after being left "unconvinced" by the first proposal.
Despite being the tenth most valuable club in the world, according to Forbes, Barcelona are missing out on millions in broadcast, match-day and sponsorship revenue.
